Jenn Widmayer
Bio
Jenn Widmayer (she/her) was born in China, adopted as an infant, and later raised in Maryland. Her love of art began at a young age in the various art classes she took throughout her schooling. These art classes and art educators are what inspired her to pursue a career in art education.
She is currently student teaching in Towson University's Art Education program and plans to graduate in the Spring of 2022 with a B.S. in Art Education and a B.S. in Fine Arts with a concentration in Painting, Drawing, and Printmaking.
Artist Statement
The artwork I make is through the lens of my experiences, past, and memories as a young Chinese American woman living in the United States. Though my referents are specific, my imagined audience is broad: I seek to make work that can be universally accessed and understood by anyone viewing life through entirely different lenses.
